Appearance: Pale pink-brown with a silvery sheen. Turns brown upon exposure.

Characteristics: Straight grained with coarse texture. Quarter slicing produces a heavy flaky figure which is desirable for decorative woodworking. Figured wood requires care when machining due to tear-out.
